Marketing Livestock

Mo-Kan Livestock Market, Inc.'s method of marketing livestock is what sets us apart from other markets. As a team, we always strive to have our customers feel welcome and leave knowing they have been treated in a friendly and professional manner. We have professionals who unload, sort, sell, pen back and load out cattle. We also take care of our buyers. Our professionals work very closely with buyers to get their cattle ready to load or move them to feed / water pens if the cattle are going to be loaded the next day.

All cattle are penned under roof on dirt floors. The entire facility is cleaned after each sale. The staff Veterinarian is present all day on sale day to provide service for both sellers and buyers.

Cattle Handling

Mo-Kan handles all livestock with great care. All employees use paddles to move cattle from pen to pen and to the sale ring. Any cattle coming in before sale day or that are picked up after sale day are placed in feed and water pens. 1500 cattle can be accommodated in these pens. When cattle are unloaded, they are moved to sorting pens where they are sorted by professional cattlemen. Proper sorting assures the seller top dollar for his cattle. The cattle are sold in the order they were checked in. After selling, horseback riders take the cattle to the buyers pen.

Our Facilities

Mo-Kan Livestock Market, Inc. is the most modern livestock facility in the Midwest. It has four acres under roof with feed and water pens available. There is a covered drive through facility for unloading cattle and two pot and four gooseneck trailer load out areas. Overhead catwalks allow the viewing of cattle in their pens.

The scale ring is 16'x32' and the clean sale pavilion seats 300 in comfort with theater seats and heat or air conditioning. The Auction Block and the front office are fully computerized. The seller of the cattle can pick up his check as soon as the cattle are sold and the buyer can pay his purchases when finished buying.

A restaurant is located at the front of the facility with seating capacity for 100 people. The restaurant has the best cooks around.
